We need a pastor who knows and cares for their people and who can nurture their strengths, abilities and willingness to help their church.
A key part of this is being visible and actively involved in the life of both villages.
In Tarves, the Pastoral Care team meets regularly to ensure that anyone going through a difficult time is offered support. This includes visits, lifts or flowers. We keep a record of bereavements and on the first anniversary a card of our own design is delivered in person. Support is offered to the whole community with discretion and confidentiality.

In Barthol Chapel, pastoral care is less formalised and works by word-of-mouth. This works well for the people we know about. But we need a leader to help develop a better approach, so people don't fall through the net because they are new to the community or isolated geographically, physically or socially.
